AhlulBayt News Agency: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has warned that Israel is attempting to escalate its conflict with Iran in a bid to draw the United States into the war.
According to IRNA, during a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday, the crown prince expressed confidence that Iran would act wisely and prevent Tel Aviv from achieving its goal.
“Today, the entire Islamic world stands united in support of you,” Mohammed bin Salman told Pezeshkian.
The Iranian president emphasized that since taking office, he has worked to promote peace, security, and stability in the region. However, he accused Israel of deliberately undermining these efforts whenever progress was made. Pezeshkian expressed hope that Iran and Saudi Arabia could collaborate to restore calm across the region.
The conflict escalated dramatically on Friday night when Israel launched airstrikes inside Iranian territory, targeting air defense systems, nuclear energy sites, and senior Iranian military officials. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio swiftly denied any American involvement in the attacks.
In response, Iran carried out retaliatory strikes deep inside Israel, hitting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Iranian officials have stated that their operations will continue as long as necessary.
On Saturday, Israel intensified its military campaign by striking Iranian energy infrastructure, further escalating tensions. Another wave of Iranian retaliatory strikes is anticipated later in the evening.
